We are a group of about 80 people who are interested in some phase of the Earth Sciences, be it the fossil history of the Earth, the geology, rock hunting or the lapidary arts. We have a good group of people who enjoy each other's company.
The Society was organized on February 17, 1953 and has been active every since.
We usually meet at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History. 1900 No. Chaparral, in their Watergarden Room at 6:30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month, except for the months of June, July & August when we meet at the Lapidary shop, 3933 Timon Blvd.. In December we have a Christmas party instead of a regular meeting. Come join us at any meeting--visitors are always welcome.
We sponsor field trips when we can. We have an interesting program at our meeting each month.
We sponsor a gem, mineral, fossil and jewelry show every year, usually in March. We present to the public all sorts of interesting and informative things for them to view and participate in. We present many wonderful dealers who display & sell some of the most fabulous stuff you can imagine.
The Club's official bulletin is SLABS & CABS, published monthly and sent by e-mail and USPS to each member. We do not publish on the website.
Dues are: $15 for a single membership $20 for a couple in the same household $5 for junior members (under 17)
